Ledger is a complete personal finance dashboard in a single file, designed with the care of a printed journal. No installation, no internet, no subscription. Your financial information never leaves your computer, because there is nowhere for it to go.

What makes it different

• It thinks. Ledger reads your own history and tells you what is going wrong in plain English — "Groceries is over budget: £836 spent against £750, and there are still 3 days to go. Cover it by trimming another category." Not generic advice. Your numbers, your patterns.
• It shows you where the money went. A flowing cash-flow diagram traces every pound from income to where it left — the width of each ribbon is the amount, and both sides always balance.
• It gets you out of debt. Choose avalanche, snowball or your own order, add an optional extra payment, and see the date you are free, the interest you will pay, and how much sooner extra payments finish it.
• It respects your time. Import your bank's CSV export instead of typing months of history. Log a payday with one tap. Search everything with one shortcut.
