Best Integrated Savings
Savings pots within the Monzo app offering easy-access and fixed-term rates via partner banks. FSCS protection through partner bank. Seamless integration.
Monzo's savings pots are not really a savings product in their own right — they are a feature of the current account, with the underlying deposits held by partner banks.
The appeal is entirely about friction. Money moves into a pot in two taps, round-ups can be automated, and the balance sits in the same app as your spending.
Who it suits. Existing Monzo customers who want savings visible alongside everything else, and anyone for whom the psychological separation of a labelled pot is what makes saving happen at all.
Worth knowing. The rates on offer through pots have generally trailed the best available elsewhere, so this is convenience bought at a cost. Check which partner bank holds a given pot, because FSCS protection is counted against that bank's licence — and if you already hold savings there directly, the £85,000 limit is shared.
