Nutmeg Pension review

Best Managed

Robo-advisor pension with fully managed portfolios. Choose your risk level and Nutmeg handles the rest. Part of JP Morgan.

Nutmeg's personal pension applies its managed-portfolio approach to retirement savings: you choose a risk level and timescale, and the portfolio is built and rebalanced for you.

For pensions specifically, the automatic de-risking as you approach your target retirement date is a real convenience, since that is a step DIY investors frequently forget.

Who it suits. People who want a pension managed for them without arranging financial advice, and those consolidating small pots they have never actively managed.

Worth knowing. The management fee plus underlying fund charges is meaningfully higher than a DIY SIPP holding a single multi-asset fund. Over a thirty-year pension that difference compounds substantially — worth modelling before deciding the convenience is worth it.
